How it works
The DevCodivo Markdown Previewer continuously monitors your text input, lexing your document into structured blocks (headers, blockquotes, lists, tables, and fenced code blocks) and applying inline rules for emphasis, links, code, and strikethrough.
As you type, an optimized virtual DOM updates the preview pane with clean, semantic HTML while computing real-time word count, character count, and estimated reading time.

> "Simplicity is prerequisite for reliability." – Edsger W. DijkstraFrequently asked questions
- Is the Markdown parsed client-side?
- Yes. All parsing and HTML rendering happens 100% inside your browser using a lightweight, secure parser. No drafts, notes, or documentation are ever uploaded to a remote server.
- Does it support GitHub Flavored Markdown (GFM)?
- Yes. It supports core GFM extensions including strikethrough (~~text~~), interactive task lists / checkboxes (- [x]), blockquotes, tables, fenced code blocks with language indicators, and auto-linked URLs.
- How does the HTML export work?
- Clicking 'Copy HTML' copies the clean HTML markup directly to your clipboard. 'Export HTML' downloads a complete standalone .html file styled with system fonts, ready for browser viewing or embedding into websites.
- Is the rendered HTML sanitized against XSS?
- Yes. Script tags, dangerous attributes, and inline event handlers are safely neutralized to prevent cross-site scripting (XSS) when previewing untrusted Markdown content.
- Can I upload existing .md files?
- Yes. Click 'Upload .md' to select any local Markdown or text file. It will be loaded immediately into the editor with instant rendering and real-time statistics.
